Loose Lips in Association with Film Oregon Alliance Presents Wednesday August 19, 2009, 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Bend Library Brooks Room, From inside the Booth, An Introduction to the Voiceover Industry.

Join us for this free lecture when four local voiceover professionals take us along as they recount their journeys through the industry. We will discuss how they got started, what training theyve received, the pitfalls, challenges and their rewards. During this overview we will touch on the range of the industry from local TV & radio ads to Audiobooks, animation and the exploding interactive entertainment business. We will also have a bit of the financial realities of the business and some suggestions on how you can get started.

The Loose Lips guest directors panel include:
Elise Michaels - Elise found her voice in 2nd grade when her teacher called on her to read a book out loud to the class. Now she reads books to big people. Along with book narration, 30 years in Radio & TV, and voiceover work for XM Satellite, President Obamas campaign, Jenny Craig and others, Elise will voice for just about anyone.

Mike Ficher - From stage to screen, self-styled renaissance man, Mike Ficher pursues a variety of passions in the performing arts. His acting and voice talent is featured on several TV and radio commercials as well as performing and directing old time radio shows with the Around the Bend Players. He also appears with the local improv troupe, Triage, From characters to answering machines to industrial training videos and more. He also hosts the Ultimate Oldies Show, a weekly thematic mesh of songs, stories, anecdotes and trivia on 106.7 KPOV, Bend's community radio station.

Paul Quinn - Owner of bendingsound voiceover & production, Paul provides voiceovers for a broad list of clients daily.

Dave Christi - Dave Christi has been working in Radio since 1987. Dave had always made character voices a part of his radio career, but has been pursuing independent work as a voice actor since 2001. Dave and his family moved to Central Oregon in 2006 and he currently works as the Production Director for the Bend Radio Group.
